Subj: Question About Viagra?
I've used Viagra with no problems or significant side efffects on several occasions. Recently I took a 100 mg Viagra and had sexual relations then about 3 hours later I took another 50 mg Viagra and had sex again. This second time my ejaculation was painful and there was blood in my semen.
I felt fine otherwise, there was no blod in my urine, and I have experienced no problems since. I am now a little afraid to use Viagra again. Is it likely or even possible that the bleeding I expereinced was caused by taking too much Viagra? Thank you.

AskDocWeb: Read the directions again. You broke two usage rules; 1. Do not take more than 100 mg per day. and 2. Do not take Viagra more than once a day. It is probable that the blood was caused by the overdose. It is possible to cause permanent damage to the penis with an overdose.

Subj: Viagra for thyroid?

My boyfriend, whom I live with, has a hereditary problem with his thyroid and has been prescribed Viagra to help maintain a heathy sex life. However, I've discovered that he frequently takes Viagra when going out with friends, when going out with the guys he works with and when going out in public with mixed groups of men and women. Sadly, I've discovered him being intimate in public with many of these women. The obvious emotional strains on our relationship aside, is this a sign of Viagra abuse, or is it normal for men to use Viagra to help them be "more social"? Is Viagra commonly prescribed for thyroid malfunctions? I've tried opening discussions with him about using Viagra only with me, but he becomes defensive and angry, preferring to believe I'm oblivious. It's a very sensitive issue. Do you have any suggestions for how I might proceed?

Hello, My husband and I are trying to start a family. He is experiencing ED problems and is considering taking viagra. Our primary concern is if it will harm the baby that we are trying to conceive. Has it been know to create problems in children conceived through viagra?

What is a normal dose for a 58 year old. I have 100mg tabs. do Half does not work. Can I take a whole 100mg tab ?

AskDocWeb: As long as you follow all of the other cautions for Viagra, you can take the 100mg tab. Taking more than 100 mg per day is NOT recommended.

Subj: Completely hooked

I am a white male 48yrs old and after my first dose of about 30mg am completely hooked on this stuff. The side effects I get are a stuffy nose and sometimes upset stomach. Before each dose I take a swig of pepto and have had no problems in that area since. I take it on an empty stomach and do not take it with a glass of water as once the desired state is reached it is very difficult to reverse the effect and as all guys know it is very hard trying to go to the bathroom with an erection. I know I don't need to take it but it works so well why not? For me it usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes to kick in and lasts about 3 hours whether I want it to or not. Fantastic stuff, I'm totally hooked and just hope I will always have enough money to buy more.

Subj: Strong erection

I have used 100mg a couple of times now. While it helped my ability to get a strong erection, I still had a problem with premature ejaculation and it took over an hour for me to recover to the point where I could gain an erection again, and then it wasn't as strong as the first (perhaps because it was manual stimulation since my wife was falling asleep LOL).

Subj: Blood in urine with Viagra

I'm 51 took viagra 50mg tonight and had blood in my seman and it hurt...at my climax..oral sex...I also had blood in the urine following for about 2hrs...I think its left..Never had this happen ever...Have only taken Viagra about ten times in a years time...a little worried.

AskDocWeb: Well, you didn't say how old you are, and it does makes a difference. We do not approve of healthy people using drugs just to feel more satisfaction. That is the same reason drug addicts give to justify their addiction. The reason we disapprove is because many drugs (including Viagra) have serious side effects that can cause long term health problems. Please inform yourself about Viagra's side effects. Viagra does not help with any type of muscle growth.

Subj: Erection problem with Cirrhosis

My husband was diagnosed with cirrhosis about six months ago and has been unable to attain an erection. Recently his doctor prescribed 50mg of viagra, the first time he took it nothing happened, the second time a few days ago, there was a slight erection. Is this common or do you think he should be on the 100mg?

AskDocWeb: If you have any heart problems or have a family history of heart problems, do not take viagra. There is a risk of having a heart attack depending on age, health issues and medication you are presently taking.

Subj: More Than 100mg?

I keep reading that no more than 100mg should be consumed in any one day. What are the possible side effects of doing so? I have taken more than 100mg on occasions but never have any side effects such as the classic symptoms of Viagra such as headaches etc. I am extremely worried that I may have or will do myself permanent damage. AskDocWeb: It only takes one heart attack to kill you. The risk of permanent damage is far greater than the benefits of overdose. Do not ever take more than 100mgs of this drug!

Subj: Sinus congestion and NO erection with Viagra

I had my prostate removed two months ago. In the past few days, I took, one evening, a 50mg pill of viagra and had horrible sinus congestion - and NO erection. I waited a few days, then took a 100mg pill of viagra - wow, had worse sinus congestion and still NO erection. Is there hope?

AskDocWeb: There is nothing listed in the side effects for viagra that would suggest any affect on a fetus. You have nothing to worry about in that regard.

Subj: Depression with Viagra

I'm finding that it I tend to exacerbate/exaggerate/prolong depression or depressive thoughts after taking viagra. This seems to last for 12-24 hours after taking 50mg dose. I think this is a definitive effect as I notice that when I do not take viagra I do not tend to become depressed. Also occasionally experienced stuffy nose (slight) and dyspepsia or intestinal pain after taking viagra.

AskDocWeb: We are still looking for long term studies. Most of the Viagra is out of the body in 24 hours. It would only show up in a blood test if they were testing for Viagra.

Why can you only take Viagra once a day?

AskDocWeb: You can only take one Viagra once a day because if you take more than that you can cause serious damage and possible death. You risk damaging the part of you that you intended to improve, and there is the chance of having a heart attack. Do not take any chances with your health. Remember that when you take more than the prescribed amount, they call that an overdose and drug abuse.

Subj: Dead hands with Viagra?

Used viagra and since then I am getting numbness in hands at night like my hands are dead. I can wake up at night sometimes and this is annoying! I can get it to go away by rubbing the hands or basically getting the circulation back

Askdocweb: There is nothing listed with the product that states anything about extremity numbness but, with the possibility of cardiovascular events and the affect such an event may have on circulation, we suggest you talk to your doctor about this.

Askdocweb: What you describe is normal for a young person just starting to experience sex. As you become more aware of the pleasure you give your partner you will last longer. If you used Viagra at your age you could cause damage to your penis.

Hi I used viagra out of curiosity actually cut a 100mg dose in four pieces, obviously using 25mg at a time. I am not impotent, just wanted to see what would happen. I am 40 years old. Have to admit every description of what to expect by the manufacturer went right on target. Only side effect for me was headache, I lowered the dose to approx. 15 mg and it was perfect. I experienced a very mild pain in my testicles two days after using it and on one occasion just under my right rib cage I feel using viagra was the cause. I used it about 6 times over a three week period. I must mention my B/P is borderline ranging between 130/88-135/90. I was experimenting with this product my input is neutral in sharing my experience. Best regards,

Askdocweb: Most likely you can, but you will have to discuss this with your physician. He knows what other medications you are taking and your health history. It starts with 25 mg and goes up to l00 mg.
